All of our makers are members of the Craft Potters Association and each of them have a story to tell.

Adam Buick

Adam uses a single pure jar form as a canvas to map his observations from an ongoing study of his surroundings. He incorporates stone and locally dug clay into his work to create a narrative, one that conveys a unique sense of place.

Jane Seymour

Jane was born to a family of artists, creatives and potters. Growing up in the Suffolk countryside, her upbringing was unconventional. With little formal education, Jane left school early and entered a life of art, in keeping with family tradition.

Christine-Ann Richards

Christine-Ann trained at Harrow School of Art and Technology with Mick Casson (1971-73), then worked with David Leach. In London, she started her own workshop as a member of the Barbican Arts Group (1975-83) and in 1976 became a Selected Member of the Craftsmen Potters Association and the Society of Designer Craftsmen. She now works from her home, a converted chapel near Frome in Somerset.

Sara Moorhouse

All bowls Sara Moorhouse makes are thrown on a wheel using white stoneware clay or porcelain. The banded bowls are then turned and bisque fired before being returned to the wheel and hand painted with underglaze colour. The Colourblock series are turned and then the lines drawn on using a laser level, which are then taped and hand painted. The white porcelain bowls are handed carved either on or off the wheel, depending on the arrangement.

Sara Dodd

Sara Dodd is a Welsh ceramic artist living and working in North London. Training at Cardiff Metropolitan University, Sara graduated in 2013 with a BA(Hons) in Ceramics. Sara is interested in sky and landscapes often referencing the regions of South Wales where she grew up. Sara has recently begun exploring the passage of time in relation to these ideas and locations.

Birgit Pohl

Birgit Pohl grew up in Germany and porcelain objects in her family home always held a particular fascination. After moving to London, a chance visit to a potter’s studio first opened her eyes to the possibilities of working with porcelain. She learned how to throw on the wheel initially at evening classes and went on to study at Clay College, Stoke-on-Trent.
