Jon Williams

As a child, Jon loved drawing and messing about with mud. He and his brother and friends spent many joyful years roaming and exploring on the waste ground of empty housing plots.  The exposed seams of soft yellow clay they discovered was perfect for making ‘weapons’ - squashed balls of clay on the ends of sticks. Although childhood has long passed, the activity has informed and inspired his approach to ceramic practice and his educational/community engagement work.

Anthony has been making pots for over forty years following a BA at Cardiff University, where he had the opportunity to build a salt kiln and learned to throw. These two things have been central to his making ever since. He returned to Cardiff to complete an MA twenty years ago and focused on rekindling his love of vapour glazing. Kerry Hastings

With both of her parents being artists, Kerry’s childhood was surrounded by paintings, sculpture, and architecture. They had a potter friend and spent quiet hours in her studio. She went on to gain a BA Hons Ceramics at University of Westminster.

Kerry is inspired by the making process itself, using clay as a way of exploring her relationship to the world as a maker.  She seeks creative strategies analogous to those found in nature such as growth, metamorphosis, and fragmentation.
