CB310Y255 Plate
Loosely thrown, this wood-fired stoneware sculptural plate is influenced by the farm environment in which Charles lives and works. Discarded farmyard scrap, mud on tracks drying and cracking, trampled by sheep are some of the ‘gifts’ that provide inspiration. Charles works with the clay as it presents itself, working into it rather than being primarily concerned with surface. Natural shapes incline to simplicity even when complex.
