Anna Lambert

grass woods bowl stack

£800.00 PRODUCT CODE:AL25Y153

A hand-built earthenware set of four bowls plus spoons worked on with multiple layers of coloured slips, drawn and relief printed images. Sgraffito drawing or texture is added and may be inlaid with slips. It is enhanced with subtle underglaze colours and finished with a transparent glaze.

This piece is from the ‘Grass Woods’ collection which reflects Anna’s interest in the management of trees, coppiced hazels, and twig banks for insects. Grass Woods are an ancient area of woodland north of Grassington on the Wharfe, containing relics of Bronze Age, Celtic and Roman settlements, as well as the site of a medieval village abandoned after plague wiped out the residents.
