SV595Y1 Strings of my Heart
This sculpture is hand built through soft slab building and extruding. It is decorated with a volcanic engobe, oxides, and a variety of glazes. Influenced by her interest in anatomy, this piece is assembled with three separate interlocking pieces and is laced with string, the joints are soldered. It aims to create tactile and visceral response in the viewer.

About this maker
With a training in art, design, and ceramics culminating in an MA in ceramics, Sarah creates ceramic sculptures. Taking the idea of clay as a metaphor for the body, and the body as vessel, her work explores these concepts through an abstracted study of the physiology and corporeality of the body.
