Anna Lambert

workshop view, field marks

£300.00 PRODUCT CODE:AL25Y164

A hand-built earthenware chawan worked on with multiple layers of coloured slips, drawn and relief printed images. Sgraffito drawing or texture is added and may be inlaid with slips. It is enhanced with subtle underglaze colours and finished with a transparent glaze.

This piece is from the ‘View from the Workshop Window’ collection. Eastburn Quarry is the view from Anna’s workshop window. The quarries are worked out and trees have been allowed to regenerate in the hollows. Further along this hillside are Norman’s and Mulloy’s fields, her farming neighbours. During the lockdown she walked on the hillside that, despite living adjacent to for more than 30 years, she had never explored.
