Since leaving Camberwell College of Art in 1988, Justine has been primarily working with hand-built porcelain. Her work addresses the boundaries between function and decoration. Form is paramount to her, function is a driving motivation, but it is the aesthetics of a piece that are key to her making.
Gaby trained in Ceramics at Goldsmiths College and established her studio in 1982 with the help of a Crafts Council Setting-up Grant. She has exhibited widely in the UK, Europe and America, and China, and her work is represented worldwide in private and public collections.
Patricia has been living and working on the Isle of Skye for the past 25 years. Her work is informed and inspired by the powerful landscape of the island.
Hajeong Lee Rogers grew up in a suburb of Seoul the South Korean capital. She has received many awards for her work including the National Award for Craft Art in 2005, which was awarded for a large ceramic sculpture - the size of a small car. Her pieces are held in collections across the UK, and within the USA.
Verity is a ceramic artist creating works that explore mystery, trigger memories, generate atmosphere and evoke a sense of place. She makes distinct bodies of work, taking inspiration from the landscape, history, and culture surrounding her in rural Herefordshire. Using clay as a medium for drawing and monoprinting, Verity creates sculptural, slab-built, ceramic forms. It is important to Verity that the form and surface of her work create a harmonious composition and are integral to her subject matter.
Since 2000 Owen Thorpe has been producing ‘families’ of pots using recurring themes and he has been making bowls and plates with inscriptions. All his work is made using a soft stoneware, high fired with occasional further enamel firings.
