Walter Keeler is a British studio potter specialising in salt glaze pottery. Named 'Welsh Artist of the Year' in 2007, Walter's work is held in public collections including Victoria & Albert Museum, American Craft Museum, New York, and the Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo.
Julian first made a coil pot at school in 1968 and was immediately hooked - and very well supported by teacher David Buchanan to pursue his passion in exploring what could be made by hand-building with clay. Other than what he was empowered to discover at school, he had no formal training.
Kaori is a Japanese ceramicist living and working in London. She was born in Arita, coming from a family of ceramics traders and from the age of eight, lived in Kyoto - both places famous for ceramics. She grew up surrounded by ceramics and was immersed in nature playing with plants, trees, insects and animals.
James and Tilla Waters create their pieces from a studio in Mid-Wales. Carefully considering where hands hold pieces and edges meet mouths, their forms have classic clean lines with beautifully balanced proportions.
Kate studied 3D Design at the University of Brighton. After graduating, she participated in an international ceramic residency in Japan where she worked alongside established Japanese, Korean, and American artists. On her return, Kate set up her ceramic studio in London where she worked for nearly ten years. She now works from her garden studio in Kent making raku and stoneware pieces.
Hilary's practice responds to observed details in the landscape with current focus on the geology and topography of the Suffolk coast, a place she has frequented for over 20 years; where the flat land meets big open skies and has a beguiling beauty all of its own. Erosion is a constant theme of this exposed coastline. The elements, battering, wearing, sculpting; imprinting the landscape over time and leaving their mark.
