Abstract Bowl – blue/orange/yellow/green
This earthenware bowl is wheel-thrown in fine white earthenware clay. The surface is lightly burnished to create a smooth surface for the colourful underglaze decoration which is painted freely onto the surface. The piece is finished in a transparent glaze.
This piece can be used and conforms to safety standards of metal release. However, use in microwave and dishwashers is not recommended.

About this maker
Valerie studied fashion and textiles at Brighton and Bristol art colleges. Valerie’s art is about a combination of brushstroke and knowledge of colour acquired through a lifetime of painting. Ken learned to pot with potters in Bristol and London and has had a long association with potters throughout the country in his work for the craft ceramic materials industry and kiln manufacturing.Â
