Paul Philp

Paul Philp has been making ceramics for over fifty years. Uniting refined classic forms with highly tactile surfaces to create pieces of strong individual identity Paul builds each piece by hand.

Martin McWilliam

Martin describes his work as ‘ Clay – Water – Wood –  Fire – Space’. These five elements are synthesised to create a reversed trompe-l’œil type of work, seemingly excavated or revealed, and simultaneously diminishing the third dimension.

Jane Cox

Jane trained at Camberwell College of Art and at the Royal College of Art and has won several awards for her work including the Wedgwood Scholarship for surface design.

Working across a range of making methods; throwing, jolleying, casting and hand-building, pieces are designed to stand alone or as part of a set. Colour plays a central role in Jane’s work and she is greatly inspired by patterns found in nature and landscape, notably in France the Caribbean and the Isle of Wight.

Angela Verdon

Angela has been working in ceramics for over 50 years. Her first experience of clay was at after school class, leading to a Foundation Arts Course in Derby, then a BA in Wolverhampton, and an MA at Royal College of Art London. The latter two degree courses were very open-ended and encouraged exploration of other materials and a wide variety of working methods. This suited Angela as she has always been interested in both industrial production processes and sculptural techniques.

Alastair Knights

Alastair has a lifetime of experience as an artist/maker, teacher, mentor, and plantsman.

He was taught by Emmanuel Cooper, Walter Keeler, Dan Arbeid, Richard Slee, Mo Jupp, Robert Kesseler, Gillian Lowndes, and Gordon Baldwin, etc. Gillian and Gordon in particular were pivotal in transfoming his thinking and ambition.

Jin Eui Kim

Jin Eui Kim is an internationally renowned ceramic artist. Originally from South Korea, he now lives and works in Cardiff, UK.

Whilst at Cardiff School of Art & Design, Jin Eui studied the illusory effects of the application of tonal bands to three-dimensional surfaces. He graduated with an MA and PhD in Ceramics.
