Hajeong Lee Rogers grew up in a suburb of Seoul the South Korean capital. She has received many awards for her work including the National Award for Craft Art in 2005, which was awarded for a large ceramic sculpture - the size of a small car. Her pieces are held in collections across the UK, and within the USA.
James and Tilla Waters create their pieces from a studio in Mid-Wales. Carefully considering where hands hold pieces and edges meet mouths, their forms have classic clean lines with beautifully balanced proportions.
Many of his sculptures start with a narrative that is either imagined, half remembered, carefully researched or commissioned. A love of whimsy, folk art, religious and tribal art, and his background as an illustrator, all go into the mix. His output is low and slow. Occasionally, Derek returns to a theme but, unless specifically designed as a set, every piece he creates is unique.
