Sharon gained a BA (Hons) 3D Design (Ceramics) in 1997 and an MA Ceramics in 2003 from the University of Wolverhampton. With over 15 years of teaching experience within further and higher education, Sharon has a solid background in fine art practice and a strong foundation as a figurative sculptor.
Sarah has been a potter for 45 years and also makes work in oak, lead and cast iron. She trained in painting at Chelsea School of Art between 1960-64 after which, she spent five years working as a nurse. This period was followed by studying at Harrow where she graduated in 1973 with a Diploma in Studio Pottery. Sarah undertook apprenticeships with David Leach and Zelda Mowat.
Matt Horne began his career in ceramics with training at Aylesford Pottery in Kent, where he developed his technical skills in production throwing, before going on to set up his own workshop near Folkestone in 2008.
Jill Fanshawe Kato’s enduring fascination with the natural world stems from her upbringing in the Devonshire countryside and her subsequent travels. Besides many shows in the UK, Jill has had 46 exhibitions of her ceramics in Japan including 11 solo shows at Keio Department Store Gallery, Shinjuku, Tokyo.
Motoko was born in 1962 in Tokyo. She graduated from Saitama University, and trained at the Takasaki College of Art. From 1993, Motoko spent six years working at the Utatsuama Craft Workshop and the Oshigahara Workshop, and then came to England in 1999.
