All of our makers are members of the Craft Potters Association and each of them have a story to tell.

Jim Malone

Jim Malone has been making pots for over forty years, gradually establishing an international reputation. Having exhibited widely over many years, both in Britain and abroad, Jim's work is represented in numerous private and public collections, including York Museum and Art Gallery and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.

Ashley Howard

Ashley Howard creates porcelain vessels informed by east Asian and homespun pottery traditions. His pieces draw from his interest in ritual vessels, the spaces they occupy and the ceremonies that surround them.

Mark Dally

Mark makes black and white domestic slipware using a combination of traditional craft and modern industrial ceramic techniques, in a contemporary take on Staffordshire slipware. Currently, he is developing his tableware and large functional work into sculptural one-off pieces.

These include slab built, stacked designs for sculptures which depend on gravity to interlock. He is also experimenting with platinum lustre transfers to exploit the differing reflective qualities of glazed and lustred surfaces.

Matt Horne

Matt Horne began his career in ceramics with training at Aylesford Pottery in Kent, where he developed his technical skills in production throwing, before going on to set up his own workshop near Folkestone in 2008.

Prue Cooper

Prue is a member of the Art Workers’ Guild, where she was Master in 2014. Her work sells widely, in the UK, USA and Japan, and she has been given numerous solo shows. Prue makes press-moulded earthenware dishes, decorated with quotations and images illustrating the ways of the world – witty, friendly or subversive.
