Lesley McShea

LMS469Y96 Saffron and Jade Mug

This mug is wheel-thrown in a speckled stoneware clay with a saffron and jade glazes and spiral detail. The bright glaze colours contrasting with the bare clay are inspired the vivid and rugged terrain of a formative period of Lesley’s life in Australia. Decorative details are picked out with stain and reference ancient artefacts, period garden ornamentation and architecture.
