This stoneware jar is entirely created from clays, rocks, and minerals that Matthew has collected from individual locations. His work immediately connects one with the geology and landscape of Britain.
The jar is wheel-thrown and fired in a wood kiln. Dartmoor granite glazes on a very coarse clay body, including quartz, mica, and feldspar from the granite.
