Wendy discovered clay on an art foundation course. She went on to study at the University of Central Lancashire in 1998, gaining a BA in 3D Design (Ceramics). Since her graduation, she has continued to teach ceramics and run workshops for schools, colleges and community groups. She has participated in symposiums and workshops in Britain, Europe and America.
Graham’s interest in ceramics began at York School of Art in the 1960s and continued at Cardiff College of Art, graduating from there in 1971. He later worked at both colleges as a ceramics technician and having retired in 2009, Graham established a workshop in Gloucestershire.
Kate studied 3D Design at the University of Brighton. After graduating, she participated in an international ceramic residency in Japan where she worked alongside established Japanese, Korean, and American artists. On her return, Kate set up her ceramic studio in London where she worked for nearly ten years. She now works from her garden studio in Kent making raku and stoneware pieces.
Emma’s ceramics practice is built on notions of what is known as Emotionally Durable design. She uses the making language of ceramics and a design sensibility to make work which is contemporary and relevant over time.
Inspired by a Chinese bottle gifted to her as a child, each piece Carolyn makes assumes its own identity with the application of transferred decoration. Collected imagery and text tell stories from lives past and present centring around the human condition and covering themes both significant and trivial.
Sharon gained a BA (Hons) 3D Design (Ceramics) in 1997 and an MA Ceramics in 2003 from the University of Wolverhampton. With over 15 years of teaching experience within further and higher education, Sharon has a solid background in fine art practice and a strong foundation as a figurative sculptor.
