This stoneware teabowl is wheel-thrown, then finished with a nuka glaze exterior and tenmoku interior. James makes his own glazes from locally sourced materials gathered from quarries and clay seams in the countryside surrounding his studio. Applied intuitively through dipping, pouring, and brushing in varying combinations, the glazes interact to produce fluid, dynamic surfaces.
