While still at school Sotis displayed a talent for art and developed a keen interest in three-dimensional art in particular. He later enrolled in a four-year degree course at the Athens School of Ceramics. After his degree he came to the UK
Susan was born and grew up in Cork, Ireland. In 1991 she received a Certificate with Merit from the Grennan Mill Craft School in Co. Kilkenny. From there she moved to Scotland and the Edinburgh College of Art, graduating in 1999 with a First Class Honours Degree in Design and Applied Arts and a Post Graduate Diploma in Ceramics in 2000. Susan exhibits widely in solo and group exhibitions in the UK, Ireland and abroad.
Paul Wearing's hand-built sculptural vessels reflect diverse urban and rural landscapes. Creating tension between the orderly, symmetrical handmade form and natural glaze phenomena, his work aims to highlight our materiality and fragility.
Daniel obtained a BA (Ceramics) from Royal Melbourne Information Technology University (co-presented with Hong Kong Art School) in 2007.
Daniel creates carefully sculpted porcelain vessels. The start of Daniel’s creative process begins with throwing. He is fascinated by the patterns and ongoing variations that emerge during this stage. The unique traces left on the forms evoke for him a sense of a path paved with the sedimentation of memory.
After completing an MA in Ceramics from the RCA in 1988, Paul moved to Italy and worked for Gucci on their home and perfume products, then into the world of leather goods and accessories. That seemed a natural progression from clay with his love of form, sculpture and respect for craftsmanship. This led to a 30-year career in Fashion accessories, moving to New York in the early 90s, becoming design director for Calvin Klein, Cole Haan, and COACH amongst others.
John Pollex has carved his own niche into the world of studio pottery. Translating his interest in Zen calligraphy into the spontaneous and mesmerising display of colour his work is known for today.
