Meet Our Makers

All of our makers are members of the Craft Potters Association and each of them have a story to tell.

Graham Williamson

Graham’s interest in ceramics began at York School of Art in the 1960s and continued at Cardiff College of Art, graduating from there in 1971. He later worked at both colleges as a ceramics technician and having retired in 2009, Graham established a workshop in Gloucestershire.

Rachel Foxwell

Rachel studied Ceramics at Cardiff School of Art and Design, graduating in 2000. Inspired by the ever-changing colour and light within the landscape, Rachel combines artistic expression with traditional craft skills and an innovative decorating technique to create abstract compositions on a clay canvas.

Stephen Parry

Stephen Parry first trained at Croydon College of Art between 1974 - 1977, then moving on to Dartington Workshop until 1979 before discovering a passion for wood-fired ceramics in France.

Akiko Hirai produces both practical and decorative ceramic ware that is held in private collections and museums worldwide. Her Japanese background and aesthetics strongly influence her ceramic work while her pieces are also perfectly rooted in contemporary designs.

Adam Frew creates functional porcelain pieces and large one-off pots. His pieces are clean, traditional, forms thrown on the potters wheel that subtly show the makers hand and create a sense of life from the craftmanship of his work.
